mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
It is my sincere desire to see that God’s people excel in the realm of finances. It is for this reason I contribute on a regular basis to Faith News Niagara. I pray that as you read each and every article, that God’s Word takes precedence over your life above all things, including money. It is only by God’s Word can real change occur in one’s life and finances.
The purpose of these articles is to help you renew your mind and receive all that God has for you. I want your mind to be washed by God’s Word so that you see things differently these days. You will learn to speak to the mountains as Jesus said to and believe that what you say to it, it will be done. My desire is that you become a person who believes God’s Word and are able to receive all that is promised to you. Ultimately, my heart’s desire is to train you to seek Christ in everything you do and to experience a renewing of the mind so that your life is fulfilled because of Him.
It is my goal to challenge your thinking so that you are able to see God and His character from a different perspective, not from the angle of tradition, but from the approach of Grace, Love, and a solid interpretation of the Bible. This new perspective will renew your mind, and in turn it will establish a new belief system in you. As a result, you will begin to display evidence of transformation. You will become a reflection of Christ and a bride in love with God.
In reality, being washed in God’s Word will cause a paradigm shift in your life and other people will notice that something is different about you. Others will notice that you are experiencing life with more vigour and joy than ever before. In my own personal journey in life, I figured that if people could notice that I’ve changed from lowly to shining with Christ’s light, then I reasoned that they would likely notice that I’ve changed from being hopeless to happy and fulfilled because of my renewed mind in the realm of finances. I made it my goal to challenge my old thinking patterns as often as I could because I desperately wanted to experience life the way God intended it to be.
When you renew your mind, many areas of your life will be affected. You’ll begin thinking differently about your relationships, your finances, and your health. When the mind is renewed to seeing yourself in Jesus, and you begin putting your focus on His Word, then these and other areas of your life can’t help but improve. As you gain more clarity on Jesus’ significance in your life then specific areas of your life become clearer as well. With Jesus, the light is shined on dark areas of your life that need to be dealt with, so just run with it.
The area that has become noticeably clearer for me is the area of finances. In fact, I have experienced such a radical change in that area of my life, I ended up writing a book about it. I had originally planned to release my “Renewing Your Mind” book first, but I was so excited about the topic of money in the realm of renewing your mind that I couldn’t help but write about finances first. You can find it currently on amazon.ca.
Over the years, I had been taught many things about money, and most of those things created conflicting views. By renewing my mind, I discovered that money can serve multiple purposes if it is used by a Christian properly. The shocker to me was that there are several primary ways Christians are to use money according to God’s Word, and most churches don’t really teach all these ways. Tradition has taught us that God would meet our needs through two of these ways, which I discovered doesn’t line up accurately with God’s word. The Church has missed the mark on this one. I always wondered why I struggled financially when I followed tradition.
It wasn’t until I renewed my mind did I begin to see finances very differently. I go into great detail in my book about finances. There is a release date set for my next book, called “Renewing Your Mind: What Does it Mean to Renew Your Mind? Effective Change Because of the Word”. If you read this one in tandem with the finance book, you will get a larger picture of how finances are affected by the renewing your mind, and you will see tangible positive change.
The finance book may be the most controversial, eye opening, extra-biblical book that any Christian leader and layperson would have read to date, and it might alter the course of your life. It will definitely challenge your current paradigm, and if you are comfortable where you are at now, then this book will challenge or shake things up in your thinking when it comes to finances.
The important thing to remember, is that all good change begins with the renewing of the mind. Renewing your mind is the starting point for growth. Just look at Peter and Paul; their minds needed to be changed before they could realize what God’s plans were for them, and for the rest of the world.
I hope that reading Faith News Niagara can be an extra resource for you, to help renew your mind. There are a lot of articles here to help you broaden your perspective on life. Perhaps these articles have helped you to see things differently as well. Some of these articles may challenge your current way of thinking. As you read the Bible, at times you might find that when you compare your old way of thinking to your current view of the Word of God, there is a tension that can be felt. Remember the story of Peter refusing to eat the various types of meat that came down from Heaven? Peter wrestled with the thought of going against what tradition had taught him about eating meat, while God’s Word prodded his thinking pattern.
If you keep an open mind and allow yourself to feel the tension between your renewed view of God’s Word, and your traditional way of thinking, this will be the starting point toward wrestling against principalities. You’ll know you are on to something when God’s Word strikes a nerve. It’s OK. Find out where God is leading you.

2 Corinthians 10:1-6
Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by meekness and gentleness of Christ—who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. 2 But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but
